WAS Geeks’ First Half of 2019 Top 5 Game Releases

Top games lists are never easy to do, now with the number of great games we get each year it is becoming a true challenge, but 2019 has been especially hard, so far this year has taken the best out of every developer who has brought us some masterpieces and unforgettable games from which we, WAS Geeks, have made our personal top 5 of the first half of 2019, enjoy it!

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil is a series that perfectly combines a unique story with a horrifying experience in a style that no other game does, making it a franchise that defined a style in the industry.

Resident Evil 2 Remake left nothing to be desired, they covered every aspect you would expect to be present in such game reviving a masterpiece in the horror games genre giving it a place, once again, on the top of horrifying experiences, making us feel like we’ve been there before, but at the same time everything feels fresh and renewed.

Super Mario Maker 2

Games shouldn’t always be about a story, sometimes sandbox, and exploiting your creativity is what you want to do, and Super Mario Maker 2 is perfect for that, because what can be funnier than creating your own Super Mario Bros level, so your creation can crush you.

Super Mario Maker 2 is the sequel of Super Mario Maker from Wii U, a game that gave a hand to a console that might not join the Nintendo Hall of Fame but it anyways brought a lot of good games.

Metro Exodus

The third game in the storyline of Metro by the hand of 4A Games was another big success, same as its predecessors, you will be playing once again as Artyom but in a whole different way than we used to in Metro 2033 and Last Light

This time we will be roaming the surface more often enjoying different weathers and a huge variety of enemies, but without missing the good old walking through the tunnels innocently enough to jump from your chair when a monster leaps over you triggering a scripted scene.

Apex Legends

The phenomenon of the Battle Royale games is fascinating, hundreds of millions of players worldwide suddenly start loving these games, this motivated Respawn Entertainment developers of Titanfall series and the future game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, by the hand of EA to develop Apex Legends.

Apex Legends is a new experience in the Battle Royale style, aiming at squads where players get to pick a character with different abilities that motivates them to try out new tactics to beat the enemy squads and be the last team standing.

Cadence of Hyrule

Cadence of Hyrule might be the less prevalent in our list, and that is sad, lately what we expect of video games is something unique, we can get ten amazing FPS in a single year, but an indie game can steal the attention if it is the one bringing the new cool stuff.

A combination of The Legend of Zelda with Crypt of the NecroDancer was a risky move that worked wonderful, a game filled with fun with a cooperative multiplayer that will give you entertainment that you will hardly find somewhere else. This is a game that, in our opinion, deserves a lot more attention!
